Pool Filtration & Pump Services in New Jersey
Clean water starts with the right equipment. MC Pools installs, repairs, and upgrades pool filtration systems and pumps across Bergen County and North Jersey.
The Engine Behind Every Great Pool
Your pool’s filtration system and pump are the hardest-working components in your backyard. They run for hours every day, circulating thousands of gallons of water, trapping debris, and keeping your pool clean and safe. When they work properly, you don’t think about them. When they don’t, you can’t think about anything else.
MC Pools provides complete pool filtration and pump services — from new installations and equipment upgrades to repairs and routine maintenance. We install Pentair products exclusively because they’re the most reliable, energy-efficient equipment on the market.
Filtration Services
Filter Installation
We install all three major filter types based on your pool’s needs:
- Cartridge filters — Low maintenance, excellent filtration quality, no backwashing required. Ideal for most residential pools in Bergen County.
- Sand filters — Durable and cost-effective with simple backwash maintenance. Good for larger pools with higher debris loads.
- DE (Diatomaceous Earth) filters — The finest filtration available, capturing particles as small as 2-5 microns. Best for homeowners who want the clearest possible water.
Filter Repair & Cleaning
Reduced water flow, cloudy water, and high system pressure are common signs of filter problems. We diagnose and repair cracked manifolds, broken laterals, worn grids, and deteriorated cartridges. Regular deep cleaning extends filter life and keeps your system running efficiently.
Filter Replacement
Filters don’t last forever. Cartridge elements need replacing every 1-3 years depending on usage. Sand media needs changing every 5-7 years. DE grids last 7-10 years with proper maintenance. We replace filter media and complete filter systems when it’s time.
Pump Services
Pump Installation & Upgrades
If your pool still runs on a single-speed pump, you’re paying 3-5x more in energy costs than you need to. We install Pentair IntelliFlo® variable-speed pumps that adjust their speed based on demand — running at lower speeds for daily filtration and higher speeds only when needed for features or cleaning.
The numbers are real: variable-speed pumps save the average pool owner $500 – $1,200 per year in electricity costs compared to single-speed pumps. Most homeowners see a full return on investment within 2-3 years.
Pump Repair
Strange noises, loss of prime, reduced flow, and air bubbles in the return jets are all signs your pump needs attention. We diagnose and repair motor failures, shaft seal leaks, impeller damage, and electrical issues. When repair makes sense, we repair. When replacement is the smarter investment, we’ll tell you honestly.
Pump Sizing
An oversized pump wastes energy. An undersized pump can’t keep up. Proper pump sizing depends on your pool volume, plumbing diameter, total dynamic head, and the features you’re running. We calculate the right size for your specific setup — not a generic recommendation.
Pentair Equipment We Install
- Pentair IntelliFlo® VSF — Variable-speed and flow pump, the most energy-efficient residential pool pump available
- Pentair SuperFlo® VS — Variable-speed pump with a smaller footprint and lower price point — excellent value
- Pentair Clean & Clear Plus® — Premium cartridge filter with large filtration area and easy maintenance
- Pentair Triton II® — Commercial-grade sand filter for residential pools that need heavy-duty filtration
- All equipment integrates with Pentair IntelliCenter® automation for scheduling, monitoring, and remote control
Signs Your Filtration System Needs Attention
- Cloudy or green water despite proper chemical balance
- High pressure reading on the filter gauge (usually 8-10 PSI above clean baseline)
- Reduced water flow from return jets
- Pump running loudly or making grinding/screeching sounds
- Air bubbles constantly visible in the return jets
- Pump losing prime (running dry, needing frequent repriming)
- Energy bills climbing without increased usage
- Pool surface staining or rapid chemical consumption
If you’re experiencing any of these issues, call us before the problem gets worse — and more expensive.
